Our actions have consequences on the society in which we operate and for this reason, SPMAQ is committed to making this impact positive and significant. Over the years, we have supported several institutions that promote sports practice in various modalities and the community integration of disadvantaged and vulnerable people, including children and young people at risk.
Through these social responsibility initiatives, SPMAQ is committed to contributing to building a more inclusive community and helping those who need it most.
SPMAQ values building solid relationships with the local community, as this is the basis that drives our activity in a conscious and beneficial way for the region.
Since the beginning, we have sought to play an active role in social, sporting, recreational and environmental solutions in Viseu and Tondela. Over the years, we have established partnerships and participated in various activities that allow us to achieve various social achievements.
Concern for the environment is one of SPMAQ's central social issues. In this sense, we adopt measures to ensure proper treatment of the waste generated by our production, following the legal standards in Portugal.
We work with specialised companies to treat and recover waste, including ferrous and non-ferrous metal filings and scraps, machining oils and scrap electrical materials. We also invest in renewable energy to increase our energy self-sufficiency and reduce our environmental footprint.
In addition, we promote environmental actions among employees, such as reducing paper consumption, using coffee grounds as fertiliser and switching off unused lamps and equipment to save electricity.
